How to renew your pawn ticket online

Updated for 2026 4 min read Online or in branch

A pawn ticket has an expiry date. When it arrives, you choose: redeem the item by repaying the loan and interest, or renew the ticket by paying the interest due so the loan continues. Renewing is the easy way to keep your gold, jewellery or watch pledged without a full repayment.

Renew vs redeem

Redeeming ends the loan and returns your item. Renewing keeps the loan alive: you pay only the accrued interest, and the ticket is extended. If you still need the cash but want the item back later, renew.

What if you do nothing?

If the ticket expires and is neither renewed nor redeemed, the pawnbroker may dispose of the pledged item in line with the Pawnbrokers Act. Renewing early avoids this and keeps your options open.

Tips to avoid surprises

  • Note the expiry date the day you pawn.
  • Renew as soon as you can. Do not wait for the last day.
  • Keep the ticket safe. You need the number to renew online.
  • Save the renewal confirmation as your record.
